Horseshoe Valley Integrity Project Simon Fraser University website gives an overview of the ecological conditions around the Horseshoe Valley and more generally the Powell River/qathet area, describing the impacts of dams and forestry practices on the local ecology. Published in September 2024, the website provides photos and videos documenting current ecological impacts.

The Columbia Basin Trust Website reports on the benefits that communities in the Columbia Basin get through the Trust from the profits from dams in their area, including affordable rental housing, habitat restoration, childcare spaces, facilities improvements, and small business loans.
